It’s Children’s Book Week – May 2-8, 2011

Since 1919, Children’s Book Week, a national celebration of books and reading for youth, has been celebrated countrywide with author and illustrator appearances, parties, storytelling and other book-related events in schools, libraries, bookstores, clubs – anywhere where kids and books connect.

At Lexercise, every week is children’s book week as we help children to become more skilled and confident readers. In an earlier post, I talked about the wonderful text-to-speech services of Recording for the Blind and Dyslexic (RFB&D), which gives children and adults access to tens of thousands of recorded books, including textbooks. As we celebrate Children’s Book Week, I’d just like to note that RFB&D has a new name – Learning Ally – and a new website.
