“It didn’t take long to learn that our school (which we love for a lot of reasons!) would not be able to support Tate’s unique learning style since he was dyslexic. After only a few online searches, I saw so many good reviews of Lexercise especially from homeschool mom blogs. The online screening was easy to use and Tate and I [completed] it quickly from my phone one morning. The free consultation with a therapist was not a sales pitch, but included a lot of information about dyslexia, public school norms, and my son’s reading development that I just did not know before. I could tell this therapist was genuinely in this business because of her love of students and literacy.

We knew something was different about how Tate was learning to read from a young age, but it didn’t seem like his teacher’s noticed. I felt so relieved that we weren’t crazy and that there was an explanation for his struggles when his older siblings had a much easier time with it. He was dyslexic but it wasn’t the end of the world! A fabulous program has already been created. Tate was putting in more work than his siblings but just not making any progress. We were both frustrated but I didn’t want him to know that I was just a[s] upset as he was. Lexercise has built in levels and goals we could celebrate and Tate and I both felt like we were productive each day he worked on his games. It just became our new routine to do games or a lesson daily and we finished the whole program in only 7 months. Lexercise is expensive, but my husband and I knew that without Tate learning how to read and ultimately enjoy school than he may not even go on to college. We temporarily paused saving for college to pay for Lexercise and it was 100% the right choice.

A parent would have nothing to lose with trying Lexercise. Especially since there is a guarantee they’ll jump up a grade level in 8 weeks! Our therapist, Mindi, is a household name for our family for good reason! She was so encouraging to both Tate and myself and was always on call to talk me through school questions or book reviews. If I ever see her, I’m going to hug her and Tate will too! Tate’s teachers could not believe the change in him as he worked on Lexercise. It all had to do with his confidence. Tate truly knows and believes there is nothing wrong with him, he just learns differently and his school didn’t know how to support that. Now, he can support himself (with us helping!) and also advocate for his needs. I also didn’t realize how much his handwriting would improve once he started forming the letters the ‘correct’ way. That’s another big bonus to the Lexercise material. This photo was taken the day we celebrated Tate completing Lexercise! We surprised him with a mini shopping spree to buy some books.”
