About the Author

Elyse Loudenbarger is the founder of The Umbrella Classroom, where she offers Structured Literacy therapy through Lexercise. Her motto for supporting students and their families is “Think Differently, Learn Differently, Teach Differently”. She has 14 years of experience in education as a former classroom teacher, a homeschool mom, and an educational therapist.

She has a personal interest in neurodivergent learners who need individualized support with literacy, specializing in helping students with ADHD and those on the Autism Spectrum. Elyse is passionate about viewing learning differences through a strengths-based lens and is encouraged by the success of students who overcome great challenges.

Fun Facts
  •   The name for The Umbrella Classroom was inspired by her son, who has taught her that there is beauty in being different.
  •   Elyse uses Lexercise as the reading, writing, spelling, and phonics curriculum to homeschool her two boys.
  •   Hobbies she enjoys include crocheting little animals, reading, and listening to podcasts.
