Lexercise Professional Therapy Guarantee

There are many reading and writing intervention programs out there claiming they can help your child. Lexercise Professional Therapy is different because we can measure your child’s success and guarantee results.

 How does the guarantee work?

    1. Your therapist will establish a baseline reading level in your first session and then measure your child’s progress after the 8th session.
    2. Research indicates that in one year of schooling elementary students average almost 100 Lexile growth (industry standard measurement unit) per grade level and 50L for high school students. We guarantee your child will make one grade level of reading improvement in just 2 months of Lexercise therapy.*

  1. You must attend and participate in your child’s 8 therapy sessions.
  2. Your sessions must be completed within 8 consecutive weeks (i.e. no rescheduling extending these sessions past 8 consecutive weeks).
  3. You must ensure your child participates with the therapist for the entire therapy session each week.
  4. You must make sure your child completes the online Lexercise practice for a minimum of 4 days/week each week.

* Full terms and conditions of the Professional Therapy Guarantee can be found here.

Why does our program work?

The Lexercise program works because it stands firmly on the 3 legs of therapy struggling readers need to succeed: a structured literacy methodology, an expert therapist and customized daily practice. Intervention without these three legs is incomplete and will fall over and likely fail. Similarly, programs missing any of these components cannot guarantee your child the same success we can.

  1. Structured Literacy Methodology

Our program is scientifically-backed by the Orton-Gillingham (Structured Literacy) method. This method is supported by over three decades of research from The National Institutes of Health making it “the gold standard” in teaching English literacy. For therapy to work, it requires all three legs!It is the only method proven to work with the way the dyslexic brain learns. Beyond that, it’s great for anyone struggling with reading, writing and spelling problems.

  1. Expert Therapists

Our therapists go through a rigorous qualification process to prove that they are structured literacy experts. Before we even consider working with therapists they must pass a qualification exam in the use of structured literacy methods. (Of the reading therapists who take this test only half pass!) Once they pass they must prove they have a professional degree in education, psychology, speech-language pathology, medicine or a related profession from an accredited university. They must also have at least 100 hours of supervised experience using clinical methods in a one-to-one setting. This level of expertise allows our therapists to completely individualize your child’s therapy to fit their needs.

  1. Customized Daily Practice

Our therapists customize daily practice games and other tabletop activities for your child to do in between therapy sessions to reinforce what they are learning. These activities also allow the parents and therapists to measure the child’s progress. Lexercise moves your child through the program in a sequential and cumulative way so that your child masters each concept needed to become an enthusiastic reader and confident writer.

Online Orton-Gillingham: Too Good to be True?

girloncomputerParents study many dyslexia intervention options when they realize their child is falling behind in reading and writing, but they may not realize that online Orton-Gillingham therapy is an option. Now, online Orton-Gillingham therapy (the new term for this is Structured Literacy) may sound too good to be true but Lexercise has made it possible! Now you can receive the same level of clinical therapy that you would get in an office in the comfort of your home.

Benefits of Orton-Gillingham Online:

Orton-Gillingham is a complex approach consisting multiple components all of which are included in Lexercise’s online Orton-Gillingham therapy program. By providing Orton-Gillingham therapy online Lexercise gives you added benefits!

Firstly, online therapy is extremely convenient. We have clients and clinicians alike all over the world that are able to connect due to our online nature. What was once a 2-3 hour commitment of traveling to and from an office is now just an hour in your own home! Scheduling conflicts are diminished as well. Let’s say you live in New York and can only participate in therapy after work at 7:00 pm, well we can match you with a clinician in California who is available at that time! You can even keep participating in therapy when you’re traveling, as long as you have an internet connection. It’s our goal to get you and your child the help you need in the most efficient and convenient way possible.

Parent Involvement
The Lexercise program has parents actively participate in their child’s Orton-Gillingham therapy. During your live, weekly online therapy sessions, you will sit behind your child and listen and observe to learn the lessons and techniques yourself. Using what you have learned you will be able to instruct your child throughout the week to help them master each level of therapy and complete their weekly practice activities. The hands-on parent role that Lexercise facilitates is one of our therapy’s key benefits.

file0001759554245Daily Practice
Daily practice is very important to reinforce and master the lessons learned in therapy. Lexercise has created online Orton-Gillingham daily practice games that make this fun and engaging for your child. With only 15 minutes of practice every day at least 4 days a week your child can advance through therapy at a fast pace, automating skills they will retain for a lifetime of use.

Begin Immediately!
A child who falls behind in 1st grade has a 1 in 8 chance of ever catching up. We urge families who are noticing their child falling behind to start Orton-Gillingham therapy immediately and not wait. Luckily, because of our large pool of qualified clinicians and online platform, you can start at your earliest convenience. We don’t require you to have a formal dyslexia diagnosis to participate in therapy. Our goal is the help your child get the help they need as soon as possible and as conveniently as we can.

Lexercise is the most efficient and beneficial form of receiving Orton-Gillingham therapy. But don’t just take our word for it, hear what other parents are saying:
