Lowcountry Therapy Center, a privately owned practice in Bluffton S.C. providing pediatric speech, feeding, occupational, and physical therapy, will be expanding to provide education therapy, including videotherapy services, through their new Lowcountry Dyslexia Center.
Lowcountry Therapy Center opened in June 2010 and witnessed a need in the area for supporting struggling readers. In October 2013, Lowcountry Dyslexia Center was created to offer on-site assessments and treatment for dyslexia at the practice’s location in Bluffton, S.C. With the new partnership with Lexercise, an online company providing dyslexia evaluations and therapy, Lowcountry Dyslexia Center’s clinical educators will be able to work with children who live too far from a Lowcountry Dyslexia Center’s office to come in for therapy on a regular basis.
Lowcountry Dyslexia Center is excited about expanding their reach through Lexercise’s online web-conferencing model. Through this technology, Lowcountry Dyslexia Center will be able to provide research-backed therapy for children with dyslexia and other language processing problems no matter where they live or how hectic the family’s schedules are.
“We are thrilled with the potential this partnership brings,” Jessi said. “Our Orton-Gillingham trained speech-language pathologists and clinical educators are so much more diverse and accessible now. Our partnership with Lexercise will make it easier to achieve Lowcountry Dyslexia Center’s mission to build success and confidence in struggling readers”
